Painting Big in Bastrop: A Mural Trip to Remember
We just wrapped a mural project in Bastrop, Texas—just outside of Austin—and wow, this one was special. Stacee and Brian, the hosts behind this Airbnb gem called The Howdy House, brought us out to add some visual magic to their short-term rental, and we ended up doing a whole lot more than just painting walls.
Over the course of a few days, we tackled not just one but multiple murals designed to create high-impact photo moments (and let’s be honest—those are gold when it comes to boosting Airbnb bookings). We also got to help rework the layout of their game room and brainstorm a few creative alternatives throughout the house. There’s something really energizing about working with hosts who are so invested in making their space unforgettable.
Was the rain ideal? Nope. Did we make it work anyway? Absolutely. (Shout out to our ever-faithful drop cloths and hustle.)
The only real heartbreak? Home Depot doesn’t carry Dynasty paint samples anymore. We’ll just say our color testing process required a little extra creativity this time around—but it all came together in the end.
We left Bastrop with full hearts, painted walls, and a genuine excitement to see the final Airbnb listing come to life. Can’t wait to share the professional photos when they’re ready. For now, here’s a peek behind the scenes of the murals we created:
